Privacy Policy
Contoura compares the visible shape of your face, hand and foot with looks that are common in different world regions. It is an entertainment app: it is not a DNA test and does not determine your ancestry, origin or identity. This policy explains which data the app handles, why, where it goes and what rights you have. Contoura has no accounts, shows no ads, does not track you and does not sell data.

Facial images, and any inference about which regions your look resembles, can count as special-category data (biometric data, racial or ethnic origin) under the GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK. We therefore process them only with your explicit consent, only to produce the result you ask for, and we never use them for advertising, profiling or analytics.
3. How photos are processed
- Analysis: each photo is sent over an encrypted connection to kie.ai, an API provider, which forwards it to Google Gemini. The photo is sent inside the request; we do not store it on any server. The model returns a structured description and look-alike scores; the app computes the final result on your device.
- Face Studio (optional): your face photo is uploaded temporarily to kie.ai's file server (tempfile.redpandaai.co) and edited by a third-party image model (Google "Nano Banana Pro" or ByteDance "Seedream"). The provider deletes uploads automatically after a short period; we do not keep them after processing. Only the edited result returns to your device. Only the shape of features is changed; skin tone, hair and background are locked, and no region or ethnicity information is sent to the model.
- Every saved or shared Face Studio image carries a visible "AI-edited" mark and AI-source metadata (IPTC).
- Your scans and studio results are stored only on your device (not in iCloud, not on our servers).
4. Third parties (processors)
- kie.ai – API gateway for Google Gemini and image models; receives photos only to produce your result.
- Google – Gemini (analysis) and Nano Banana Pro (Face Studio) via kie.ai; Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging and Remote Config. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
- ByteDance – Seedream image model, used as a fallback in Face Studio via kie.ai.
- Apple – App Store payments and subscriptions. We never see your payment details.
5. International transfers
These providers may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States and other countries. By ticking the consent boxes you explicitly agree to this transfer for the purposes above. For Türkiye, transfers rely on your explicit consent and, where available, the providers' standard contractual safeguards.
6. Retention
- Photos sent for analysis: not stored by us; processed only for the request.
- Face Studio uploads: temporary at kie.ai, deleted automatically by the provider; not stored by us.
- Scans and studio results: on your device until you delete them (Settings › Privacy & data › Delete all, or swipe a scan) or delete the app.
- Analytics and crash data: up to 14 months at Firebase.
- Free-scan and Face Studio allowances are counted in the iOS Keychain so that they are not reset by reinstalling; this counter contains no photo or result.
7. Your choices and rights
- Withdraw consent at any time in Settings › Privacy & data. After withdrawal no photo leaves your device until you agree again. Withdrawal does not affect processing done before it.
- Delete your data in the app at any time (single scans, studio results, or everything).
- Under KVKK Art. 11, the GDPR and similar laws you can ask whether we process your data, request information, correction, deletion, object to processing, and request a copy. Write to erbalta80@gmail.com; we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your data protection authority (in Türkiye: KVKK).
- Camera, Photos and Notifications permissions are optional and can be changed in iOS Settings.
8. Age limit
Contoura is for people aged 16 and older; Face Studio is for people aged 18 and older. Only use photos of yourself. Photos that appear to show a minor are not analysed.
9. Availability
Contoura is not offered in the European Union or the European Economic Area.
10. Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. If a change affects how photos are processed, the app asks for your consent again.
